My prayers felt deeper, my love for Islam grew, and the questions I had about how to do even the smallest things, that I was always too embarrassed to ask, got answered. My notes that I took throughout Seminary have been worn down from how many times I've referred back to them since graduating. And even now, as I go into new stages of life, I constantly refer back to the knowledge gained then to navigate how to move forward. For anyone considering joining, my advice to you would be to not think and just do it. As much as college will be life-altering for you and teach you so much about yourself, Nueces Seminary can be 10 times as life-altering and will not only teach you about who you are now, but will give you the tools to mold what type of Muslim you can be in the future inshaAllah.

I have gained so much more knowledge about Islam since I have started seminary. I realized how important the journey of knowledge is and how much closer it can bring you to Allah and your faith. I have learned how to look at life through the lens of Islam and how everything around me and what I am going through has been allowed by Allah. This is the closest I have been to Islam and I can’t wait to further my journey and gain more beneficial knowledge!

I joined Nueces Seminary because I genuinely felt at the time that if I were to stand before my Rabb, I wouldn't have done my due diligence in pursuing Islamic knowledge - this was a golden opportunity for me to do so. I felt so lucky that there was a seminary program that was so accessible to me and I'm immensely grateful that I was able to be a part of it. I found that the more I learned about my deen, the more I realized I didn't know. By the end of my first semester, I had 'relearned' so many basic fundamentals of Islam and I could see the changes manifest in my daily life. My salah and wudu completely transformed after I sat down and studied everything traditionally from scratch, and it only made me wonder what more I needed to learn and how else I could improve.

Being a Nueces Seminary student helps me fulfill my obligation, as a Muslim, to continue seeking knowledge. Seeking Islamic knowledge is integral to staying connected to one's faith because growth takes place through learning, and growth is required to become a better Muslim.
